2. “Grande Valse” kemudian diubah NOKIA menjadi “Nokia

S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 announced

Just when the S60 3rd edition Feature pack 1 devices are set to hit the market, Nokia introduced a new Feature Pack for S60 on Symbian OS. S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 is designed for innovation and significantly facilitates the creation of compelling applications and accelerates performance. S60 3rd Edition is targeted for mid-range devices and offers significant usability enhancements for this category.

Development of applications and services for S60 devices will be faster and more cost-efficient as S60 brings a major extension to the C++ development environment with Open C. This introduction brings the familiar standard C function libraries to S60 software, supporting increased productivity and improved time-to-market of applications. With Open C, developers can reuse existing code and focus on the mobility aspects of their applications.

Symbian recently introduced four of the basic POSIX libraries on Symbian OS. With Open C, S60 is extending the reach and implementing five additional C libraries for an optimized solution to migrate open source and desktop applications to S60 on Symbian OS. Open C libraries are part of the S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 and will be integrated into the publicly available SDKs.

Feature Pack 2 comes with improvements in usability and software architecture focusing primarily on the mid-range device category. Usability enhancements support the ease of use in for example messaging, multitasking and downloading. Feature Pack 2 also enables instant media playback during downloading and animated notification of inbound calls. Architectural improvements focus on ensuring excellent performance and flexibility of S60 in various hardware configurations, and include for example support for demand paging virtual memory technique.

S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 will be available for all S60 device manufacturers in Q2. It is fully compatible with S60 3rd Edition, and applications developed for 3rd Edition will run on all Feature Pack 2 devices. The new Feature Pack 2 will be demonstrated at the 3GSM World Congress 2007 in Barcelona in S60 stand in Hall 8.

Please install your gnubox on ur phone first…
Install mRouter on your PC also..

ON YOUR PC (Microsoft BT stack)
Switch on BT on ur PC and ur fone.

Step1: Right click the BT icon in the system tray, “Open Bluetooth Settings”
go to “COM Ports”.
If it is blank, click on “Add”-> “Incoming (device initiates the connection)”
Look at the COM number…mine is COM4. it varies…let’s put it as COM#

Step2: Go to “Control Panel” -> “Phone and Modem options”. Select the tab “Modem”
Add a modem. Check the box saying “Don’t detect modem”.
Select the type as “Communications cable between two computers”

Step5: Now right click on the m-Router taskbar icon and click on “Advanced Settings”
Click on the View button under “Additional COM Ports”
Select the COM Port used by your Bluetooth device (COM#)
After setting the COM Port, click “OK”
Under connectivity methods, look for Additional COM Ports and expand it to make
sure your COM port is there. Click “Close”
Make sure that there is no error message…
Now that our m-Router is all set, let’s configure Gnubox!!

GNUBOX!!

Step1: On the phone, Go to “Tools”->”Settings”->”Connection”->”Access points”
Go to “Options”->”New access point”->”Use default settings”
Name it ‘Bt’ .
Make sure you set it to use ‘Data call’ as the bearer.
Set the number to call to something that cannot be called (e.g 321),
username as abc, password: xyz
Leave the rest as it is…
Then, “Options”->”Advanced Setting” Leave all untouched EXCEPT “Proxy Port Number”.
enter it as 6588

Step2: Start GnuBox.
Now you should see on the screen that the DialOutISP record is found,
and the phone number you just entered is printed on the screen.
However, the ModemBearer should still show ‘No rec’.
- Select “Options”->”Install”->”Create records”
- Exit gnubox with “Options”->”Exit”
- Start GnuBox again.
- Now you should see on the screen that the ModemBearer is shown and the ‘No rec’ error is gone.
- Create the bluetooth pairing between your phone and the computer.
- Launch GnuBox. Select “Install”->”Set RAS login script”
- Then select “2box bluetooth”->”Serial port”
- On the upcoming device selection dialog, select your computer,
and in the question about encryption click Yes (or OK if you only have that).

Wippies Push-to-talk over Cellular – PoC
With Wippies PoC-service you can use your mobile phone as a “walkie talkie” (handheld transceiver). The main use of the service is simple: by pressing one button on your mobile you can speak to one person, or a group in a GSM (GPRS) -network, in one direction at a time. To use the Wippies PoC-service you need a mobile phone that supports (Push-to-Talk, PTT, PoC). All users taking part to the Push to talk call, must have the Push-to-Talk service activated and enabled.

Wippies PoC -service is free. If you use the service with GPRS connection, your mobile operator charges you with the normal GPRS-charges. Recommend way to use the service is with WLAN.

Service can be activated from http://my.wippies.com/ -administration page, section Additional services order. The service can be used right after the order is done. After ordering you have to set settings to your mobile phone.

Instructions to use the service with your mobile phone can be found from the manual of the device. Some of the Series 60 -device manuals doesn’t have instructions for the PoC-service, in this case check the generic settings below.

Settings
Series 60 -devices
Installation of Push-to-Talk application varies with different devices. On some models, for example some of the Nokia 6630 -phones the application is installed in the memory card that comes with the phone, the application can be installed from there. On newer phones the application is usually working on the mobile phone and doesn’t need any kind of installation, only the settings have to be set.

Settings:
On the phone : Menu -> Connectivity -> PTT -> Options -> Settings -> Connection settings
Domain : poc.wippies.com
Access point name : Saunalahti Internet (your operators internet-access point name or your defined WLAN access point)
Server address : poc.wippies.com
Password : your password set at my.wippies.com administration.
Realm : Poc Service C1.0 (notice that the text is case sensitive, this is not needed with new phone models)
Wippies Push-to-Talk connection is now set. You should be able to connect the service.
You can make a Push-to-Talk call by selecting Contacts on the Push to talk application and selecting a name.
On some phones accepting the Push-to-Talk call will be done automatically always when the connection to the PoC-service is open.
